The chicken in London

Desperate for seeking a radical change, I travelled to London on a 4-day trip with just a backpack filled with warm clothes, wild adventures and youthful vibe with a mission to simply enjoy the glory of being alone.

It was not difficult to fall in love with the city, especially that UK is particularly close to my heart. The city appealed to me from its army of flowers, to the grandeur of the lakes to its fashionable people.

My quickie visit to London is in its own way extraordinary.

World-famous Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, double decker red buses, and if you are brave enough, standing for hours just to neck a craft beer in bars and pubs – all tantalizing combination for an ambitious full day itinerary in this city.

I was no exception to feel the drama.. Her Highness Queen Erl of PH has been to London to visit the queen. Remember Maria spreading her arms wide as she sang “The Hills are Alive” from that movie Sound of Music? Well, it was pretty much the same moment when I landed in Heathrow. Except that I was not singing and I’m not on top of a hill. But it was like “The hills are alive” moment were I am very close to screaming with excitement.. i did look silly but I don’t care! I am finally in London. Here’s my ‘Ambitious’ yet fun-filled trip in London.

London will always hold a special place in my heart.

Full English Breakfast – fit for a queen.

Beer tasting when in London

Fish and Chips – this is not to be missed.

The Houses of Parliament is one of London’s most iconic building. Big Ben is the huge clock located at its north end.

Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress, known as the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London.

The iconic Tower Bridge which I thought was the London Bridge when I was a kid.

Just like the yellow cabs of New York, the famous Red Telephone Box is London’s signature.

I love taking door photos specially the most unique and appealing ones. This is one of the beautiful doors I have seen in the streets of Notting Hill.

A book I bought from a second hand bookshop in Notting Hill district. In Pursuit of the English is a first-class novelist’s account of the lusty, quarrelsome, unscrupulous, funny, pathetic, full-blooded life in a working-class rooming house. It is a shrewd and unsentimental picture of Londoners you’ve probably never met or even read about – though they are the real English.

I am a fan of the film and looking for Paddington Bear at Paddington station was sort of an adventure.

Again, film-inspired. Notting Hill and Portobello Market was a suggestion of the lady who I sat next on the plane

Braving the tube like a local. London subways were never a problem for a first-timer like me.

London Eye – the famous giant Ferris Wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London.

Enjoying the daffodils.

Camden Town – one of my favorite places to be out and about. With its mix of of eclectic, intriguing and unique experiences from its line a street of shops, bars and restaurants, this colorful neighborhood captivated my heart.

That girl who chose to travel

She has the inner desire to explore and see the world.

She embraces her life today but still plans for the future.

She is sophisticated but still edgy. She is open-minded. She sometimes doesn’t make sense.

She saves up for another adventure.

She is often times dreamy because she is plotting her next destination.

She wants to break-free but knows where she’s going.

She refuses to party but wants to go out. She is up for something new.  She feels the need of that thrill of experience.

She gets involved with different activities. She gets sunburn but doesn’t seem to mind.

She knows what she wants and knows how to get it.

She is unpredictable. She is random. She is spontaneous.

Why I love travelling and you should too

I knew that the first time I took that international flight to Dubai, I will be travelling a lot more than I wish for. Being in the Middle East has opened doors of opportunities in exploring its nearby countries as it serves as a hub to travel to Europe and Asia.

Travelling gives me the excitement of change – change of environment, the climate, the people I talk to, the food I eat, and so on.. That feeling of discovering a city makes it so much fun. The world gets smaller and smaller.

While taking trips can be loads of fun, it can also take its toll. Aside from being costly, the chore of packing and unpacking is a nightmare. It can also be dangerous too – walking on unfamiliar streets and allies.

But overall, it is the great adventure that you experience firsthand as you see life unfolds before your very eyes. And I do not want to miss that. For travel is a degree which one can do in comfort and style outside the four-cornered walls.

The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see.  – G.K. Chesterton

Opportunities to travel don’t often come along… so when you get the chance, go grab it like there is no tomorrow!

The missing shade of blue

Gentle and kind lover
You are a gift so dear, I treasure.
Life has a funny destiny
Memory of an unfinished love story.

“I love you”, you said.
Do you remember what it has led?
For none of them knew
That we felt something very true.

I love you but it’s just not right
Even if I dream of you every night.
No matter what I do
I always think of you.

Satisfied by watching many sunsets
As nature pours forth its very best.
But my deepest fears
Was love’s eternal tears.

I love you most when you love me least.
Just like any great love story.
I know love is an attitude
But nothing can break this solitude.

Alone I sat,
Recalling what we’ve chat.
How difficult it is to stop the heart from loving
As it paints a deep emotion of time passing.

Love truly, Kiss slowly, Hurt gently
Setting love free until eternity
What I felt for you is something true
For I knew it was the missing shade of blue.

The chicken who stole Paris

Autumn in Paris is at once enchanting, lovely, poetic and melancholic at the same time.

Watching the Eiffel Tower for the first time as it glitters in front of my eyes on the eve of my Birthday was more beautiful than a dream!

It is a city easily to fall in love with. A city of inspiration. A city of friendship and lovers. A city filled with magic. I fell in love with Paris!

Paris is a great place for walking. The scenery alone is breathtaking. It is a place where art inspires beauty. A great weather plus a companion makes it worth your sore feet. I’ll never get tired walking around.

Perhaps the most appealing neighborhood I went was Montmartre – a place where great artists come together. It is a Paris of artists.

I couldn’t be happier with everything I’ve experienced in Paris.

Jetaime Paris!

Paris is always a good idea – Audrey Hepburn

Yes, I’ve stolen Paris and it’s magic with my photos.

You simple took my breath away.. and think of you often so dearly.

You many not be somebody's favorite color, but you can be someone's favorite portrait.

Round and round we go. This vintage carousel stands witness to the Parisian magic happening everyday and every night.

It is not easy to forget a person you love and let them leave your heart. Even when this person stops loving you, you can't forget him as your love is real and you start loving him even more.

There is no age limit on dating or falling in love. For it knows no boundaries. Love is perpetual.
